Quick Update

Hi everyone! I know the blog has been a little sparse. I have been busy though, I swear!

Some of you may recall that I did a guest post on Women Write About Comics back in February about otome games on the mobile. Since then, I’ve contributed to a few roundtables as well as an additional article about Skyrim’s attempt at monetised mods. There is a lot of crossover between my blog and my contributions to WWAC, so sometimes, my blog posts end up there rather than here. I suppose that means I just need to start upping my output so I have enough for both, huh?

To keep everyone abreast (tee hee) of things, I’ve added a new page to the blog, containing links to all my guest posts. This way, you can find where else I’ve been hanging around! I prefer doing it this way, rather than bombarding you each time I do a post somewhere else. Maybe I’ll do a round-up now and then of my recent guest posts as well? I’ve not decided yet.

In addition to the Guest Post page, there is a new page for webcomics. I’ve quickly realised I read way too many webcomics, but I don’t seem to be slowing down any time soon! As such, I’ve decided to share my finds with everyone else. The list isn’t complete yet – there’s a few extras I need to add, as well as eventually finding or creating banners for all of them. I’m also toying with the idea of doing a Webcomic Spotlight feature, going through my various webcomics and sharing them a little more in-depth with everyone.

Blog stuff aside, lordwelshi’s PC is still playing up. How rude! We (read: he) has finally resigned that we need to just play the old way for now while it gets sorted, so there may be some videos in the future, starting up again in June. My hope is to pick up some cheap and more obscure games while we’re in the States this month (which will mostly be PS3 and PSP), so we’ll have something different and new to share. The latest video features Evil Zone (1999) for the PS1, and is lead by yours truly! Because I made him watch me play. :D And he hated it. So, fun stuff! As painful as it is for the other, I thought the nostalgia-fuelled play was a lot of fun and helps show off some older, lesser known games. But that’s just me.

In other news, I’m on a relatively new gaming social network called Anook! You’ll find me under my usual Rinzei handle. The site features game communities for each game, as well as the ability to join and create custom “nooks” or groups, such as interest groups, blogs, or guilds. I’ve run into a lot of fun people through this site, so I recommend everyone to give it a look-over and see if it’s right for you.
